Job overview

An opportunity has arisen for a permanent member of staff to work within the Estates Stores Department. The role will encompass working closely with the Stores Manager and team to ensure stock levels are maintained and providing a responsive service to the maintenance and trade teams the whilst at the same time identifying and exploring savings opportunities with the department.

Hours of work will be 37.5 per week Monday - Friday, 8am - 4pm with some flexibility depending on the needs of the service

The Stores Operative will assist the Stores Manager in providing a cost effective, responsive and efficient Stores service to the needs of the Estates Department. The postholder will undertake the day-to-day running of the store’s stock holding in terms of receipts and issues, and administering the associated documentation.

The post holder will maintain existing procedures and Stock control policy in the day to day running of the Department and its activities

Training & Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • A good level of general education.
  • Certificate of Training for Fork Lift Truck

Desirable criteria

  • NEBS Supervisory certificate.

Experience

Essential criteria

  • Experience in Stores systems.

Desirable criteria

  • A broad understanding of the different maintenance trades in building and engineering.

Communication & Relationship

Essential criteria

  • Demonstrates a clear and concise telephone manner.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Customer focussed attitude

Desirable criteria

  • Previous experience supervising staff

Salary: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
