About us
Atlas Courier Express is a domestic same day courier. We provide urgent transport services to businesses throughout the UK using our fleet of vans and lorries, as well as carefully selected partners. We also provide general transport services to all of our customers, ranging from European haulage to international parcels.
We require an Apprentice Transport Clerk for our office in Wickford. This is a very varied role involving dealing with all the challenges customers and suppliers can present you with.
Please note this is an apprenticeship and you will be required to work toward a qualification in Customer Service with our training partner

Requirements
- Confident and friendly phone manner
- Competent with IT systems, in particular dealing with emails
- Polite and courteous in all communications
- Good team player
- Hard working
- Willing to take on new responsibilities when the need arises
- Candidates who do not complete the assessments sent by Indeed will not be considered
Job Role
- 9am-5pm, Mon - Fri. 45 minutes for lunch.
- You will be given time during working hours to complete work necessary for your qualification
- 15 month apprenticeship scheme - apprentices often move on to full time roles once complete
- Taking bookings from customers by phone and by email, as well as dealing with logistics queries
- Reporting status of deliveries using computer system and keeping customers updated
- Use of in house booking software
- Communicating with external suppliers
- Other ad hoc duties according to business requirements

Salary: £250.00 per week
Schedule:
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday

Ability to work from home if required to self isolate, or if government reintroduce restrictions, so no loss of income in these situations
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Wickford, SS11 8DL: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
