VR Destorage Assistant Contract Manager

What is the key purpose of this role?

Job Purpose

To support NTS Contract Managers in the management of both the technical and commercial aspects of existing contracts to achieve the successful return of Vitrified Residues (VR) to both Japan and Europe requiring interaction with both internal and external stakeholders, customers, suppliers and Sellafield Limited (SL). Responsible for managing specified commercial aspects of existing contracts and to support development of contract/pricing strategies in line with company policies/procedures and to support specified aspects of contract negotiations for existing agreements. Additional duties include supporting the management of company export controls.

What are the key deliverables and accountabilities of the role?

Key accountabilities

Delivery responsibilities – supporting the VRR Contract Managers in:

  • the delivery of contracts with Japanese and European customers a combined value of more than £100M
  • the implementation of the contracts that define the requirements and scope of service for the destorage and transport to Barrow of VR for Japanese and European customers.
  • the development and negotiation of new contracts and amendments as necessary
  • coordinating and liaising with technical, commercial and operational stakeholders in NTS and SL to develop and continuously improve the policies, procedures and documentation used to manage efficient delivery of the VR destorage service.
  • managing customer ISO 9001 audits of Sellafield operations and quality management system as required
  • delivering contract requirements, responding to customer requests and managing stakeholder support
  • providing on-site support on the Sellafield Nuclear Licensed Site (including within active areas) during customer visits and witnessing activities
  • Export Controls management: export licence submission and administration; liaising with stakeholders, including DIT, HMRC and other government departments as an export licence holder.
