Job description
Set in the heart of Chester le Street and surrounded by breath-taking scenery the Lumley Castle Estate offers a historic 14th century 4 -star hotel with, restaurant, and bar. Our Operations team is built up of team players, hands on supportive people who value the Nights Team’s efforts in continuing creating a memorable guest experience.
24 hours per week. Worked over 3 nights out of seven. 9 hour shifts with a one-hour break, between the hours of 9pm - 7am.
Purpose of the Role
Night Porters are responsible for providing a safe and secure environment for guests, coordinating support for residents throughout the night and responding to any emergencies that may arise in a calm and timely manner.

Excellent communication skills are essential, as well as a calm approach. The ideal candidate will have previous experience as either a night porter or some reception-based skills. The ability to work nights is essential and full driving license preferred.

A few ‘need to knows’.
- This role is a live out position and a candidate needs to have the ability to commute.
- Interviews could be virtual or on site and may consist of virtual Teams Call, followed by an onsite visit.
- Shift patterns consist of a three-day working week covering our seven-day weekly operation.
- All applicants must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
- Applicants must be available to do extra shifts as and when needed.

Role Requirements
- Assisting with guest requests and understanding their needs
- Preparing conference rooms as per the guest specifications
- Carrying out night audits and security checks across the Hotel
- Serving refreshments to guests
- Attending to a variety of matters that arise during the night.
